BACK TO SCHOOL ORPHANAGE OUTREACH

September is the month of school resumption in Nigeria when pupils and students get promoted to a new class. So back to school season is here again and everyone is talking about school resumption and going back to school. In Nigeria, school resumption is a remarkable event that marks the beginning of a new school academic year. As the long holidays which usually take place in August of each year come to an end, parents and their children, guardians and their wards, schools and their staff all over the country prepare for the new school year in anticipation and excitement.

Every parent and guardian makes sure that their children’s school fees and levies are ready, they provide school uniforms, school shoes, bags, textbooks, notebooks, and stationeries for school. They also shop for new socks and underwear for the children. Most parents even take their children to the hospital to undergo medical checkups to make sure that the children are healthy and fit for the new school year.

Children on their path also get ready for school. They arrange their school books, pack their school bags and materials. They wash and iron their school wears. Those who were given holiday assignments by their teachers complete the assignment. Some children read ahead and even revise previous lessons to make sure they stay ahead and at the top of the class.

While all these are going on, a certain set of children are watching by the sidelines. They are not preparing for the new school year even though they might likely resume. They have no parents to pay their school fees and buy school materials for them. They are longing for these things but can’t afford them. These are the orphans who have no parents to provide for them.

But you know what? Me and you can be their parents. We can stand in for them, we can be their happiness and we can also provide for them. You can join us to put smiles on the faces of these children as we provide back to school materials to the children of Foundation Maroon Orphanage located at Urua Ekpa in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Your gifts and tokens are highly valuable and appreciated.
